This is what got me started on the S.G. post. Cleanin out the freezer and found 11 lb. of sweet cherries and 5 lb of strawberries. Decided to try for 3 gal. Mix em up and get strawberries, cherries and looking for the angles kiss in spring. Will put the sugar in tomorrow after checking the S.G. and then comes the magic yeast. House gonna smell like fermentin in a couple of days. Arne.

Yesterday it had fermented down below 1.000. Already has a good wine smell. Transfered to carboy, not racked, but with a strainer funnel. Seems like strawberry tends to plug up the strainer, but gets rid of a lot of the solids that way. Decided there was a quart to a half gallon slurry left in the primary. Threw in some sugar, water, nutrient, energizer, tannin and a bottle of lemon. That was nine oclock last nite, it has blasted off this morning. Foam up into the towel covering the must. Will add the rest of the lemon and a bottle of lime later. Fresh Skeeter pee for memorial day, yay. Arne.

Skeeter pee has fermented out. Has a great smell and tastes pretty good. Still yeasty and all that, but is gonna be really good. Gonna rack it into secondary tonite, then time to put it to bed for a while. If I can keep my hands of it, will have a nice batch for the end of the summer parties. Arne.

Racked the Angels Kiss today. The 3 gal is still pretty cloudy. Had a top off bottle and it has cleared nicely. So while racking, stole a glass of it. Very interesting, think it is the sweet cherries, gives it a whole different taste from anything else I have made. If I can keep my wine theif away from it, it should be very good a year from now. Now, if only I could find some more sweet cherries. Arne.

Brought this back up. Tried a little of this last nite. It is excellant. I am afraid it mite have a problem with having enough left over to bottle, tho. Sure wish I had a sweet cherry tree in the back yard. Have to start new strawberry beds next year too. This last winter killed em all off. Have to pick some crabapples and the elderberries are gettin ripe. The freezer will be full shortly. Take care all, Arne.

Sounds good I have just started picking Elderberries here also
