Wade ,NW and Waldo....we may have slowed for a while but never stopped....CHEERS

Waldo any tips before we start our Concord wine? I'm guessing its similar to Muscadines.

Happy anniversary to you! Good marriages are a lot like good wines. If you give them the care that they deserve they do nothing but improve with age.

Well, SWMBO went above and beyond in getting me a gift to celebrate 30 years together. She bought me a BMW (2001 530iA, Topaz Blue over Gray - my dream car). Many of you saw it at Winestock. The big question is what will I get her for our 30th anniversary next September? It's looking like a new house.

There are three we are looking at. One is within our price range. No wine room - staying with using the spare bathroom to make wine. The next is at $550k - if we win the mini-lottery. Garage is 4' below main slab - cut in some stairs and put in a wine cellar (er. storm shelter) under the slab. The third is $1.1M (Powerball) that already has a 1000+ bottle cellar. All she has to do is win the Powerball and she can have any house she wants.

Well we've been slacking on the forum lately so another update is in order.

we have the following in glass right now:

3 gals of apple aging

3 gals of Cherry(just racked and sweetened) what brix level is considered sweet wine? Mrs chevy likes it sweet. The last batch was dry.this one is about 3 brix

3 gals of concord.clearing

Concord started out smelling like rotten eggs!!! splashed rack 2 times and its almost gone now. Thanks for the advice guys!!!

Bow hunting was ok shot a doe(first deer with a bow)then waited for the monster buck to walk by and it never happened. But I got until Jan. to get one.
looking to start a batch of mead and probably another kit soon!!!

We just love this hobby.
Looking forward to making Winefest 2008.It will be "Our AnniversaryTrip"

Nice doe Chevy. It looks like I will go the year with no deer. Other than bow season which I don't do yet and one week of muzzleloading(hot and rained all week this year) we can't shoot does here. Naturally I watched about 100 of them this year. Only saw a couple bucks early this year with no good shot- so didn't take. Then there was last weekend when I saw a buck and a doe in the next hedgerow over(about 200 yards) I put the binoculars up to check for size and a truck drove in front of them. Some guy drove right in front of me and scared the buck off.......grrrrrrr. No problem. If need be I will get a nuisance permit to keep the does out of grazing on the vines and apple trees.
