Ok long story short, my blackberry bushes did not do too well this year. ive only got about half of what i need to make a 3 gallon batch. im still tryin to locate some berries from some local produce places, but has anyone found or used blackberry juice? should i just keep them frozen and save for next year? using what i got to make a 1 or 2 gal batch seems like a waste of time. could use any suggestions:a1

Thanks for the links, i might just get one of them. $35.00 seems reasonable enough, cant see spending 78.00 or whatever it is though.

I have been picking blackberries here in Bremerton, and I look like I have been fighting with a wild cat, but I am winning and getting some berries. They are everywhere.

wild blackberries were moderately plentiful, thornless berries were almost non-existant. Managed to ferment two batches of 3 liters each, each slightly different recipe. Experience has dictated ... if you pick enough to ferment...dont wait!:>:>

I have come to realize there is no such thing as enough blackberries.
So now I have to find a way next year to pick more.
Do you think I could start an orphange and put them little boogers to work?

My daughter is a pick aholic and is on the way to pick me some now and she just told me about this great public blueberri patch, pick all you want, no charge. Told her pick five gals and we would build a blueberri wine also this winter:b

Years ago we had wild blueberries and even lots of huckleberries growing,,, but those were the days. I don't know why they just disappered, but they are hard to find now.
If they keep using herbicides on the roadside the day will come blackberries and elderberries vanish from the fence lines too.
