There are going to be a kazillion of these around here shortly. They're already popping up everywhere. Anyone ever made a wine from bluebonnets??

You guys have peaked my interest with what you do with this wine exactly. After all isn't "everything better with Bluebonnet on it"?

Warning: Plants in the genus Lupinus, especially the seeds, can be toxic to humans and animals if ingested. Sensitivity to a toxin varies with a person’s age, weight, physical condition, and individual susceptibility. Children are most vulnerable because of their curiosity and small size. Toxicity can vary in a plant according to season, the plant’s different parts, and its stage of growth; and plants can absorb toxic substances, such as herbicides, pesticides, and pollutants from the water, air, and soil

bluebonnets are of the genus lupinus and lupins are toxic!

It's always good to check wild plants out by the scientific name to avoid common name confusion. Some plants have the same common name and one may be fine to consume and the other toxic.

Very true. He even has a recipe for tree bark wine. At one time he had a section about poisonous plants. He lost a bunch of his web pages due to a fire at his ISP.
