Three days ago I started a 6.5 gallon batch of Pear wine. Some people will probably think that I have used too much fruit in this batch as I only used 2 qts of water in the entire batch. The rest was 6 gallons of steamed juice (6 gallon of juice = 60 lbs fruit ) . The juice had an SG of 1.030 and it only took 8 lbs of sugar to end up at 1.080. Even with all the juice I still had to add 8 tsp acid blend . This wine has smelled absolutly phenomenal all the way through fermentation. I racked it to glass this morning with an SG of 1.020. The fruit taste is great without being overbearing. this has the potential to be a great wine IMO.
I would normally post a pic but either the camera is on the blitz or I don't know how to operate it ( probably the latter
)I will try and post some pics at a later date.
