Chardonnel disease question

Can anyone help identify what's going on here? This is a 3rd year Chardonnel vine. Only one out of 39 Chardonnel vines have this problem.

Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated.

That looks like black rot. I can't see the leaves very well, are you sure this vine is Chardonnel? Does it look like all the other vines? It could be a different variety. Are you keeping up with spraying?

Ugh! Yes spraying every 14 days or more if it rains. Definatly the same as the other Chardonnal vines and grapes. After looking more carefully, there are signs of the same to a much lesser degree on other vines (and also on St. Vincent). its been exceptionally wet and rainy. Any suggestions on how to handle this?

Managing black rot on grapes This looks like a good article. Manzate is good for control but you may have to go with one of the (expensive) fungicides like Elite or Pristine. If you can share the cost with a coupe other growers, you can justify using the more expensive chemicals.

Good sanitation is important because the spores overwinter. Remove the mummy clusters and the infected canes from the vineyard. It only takes 6 or 7 hours of wet conditions (temps 70 to 80) for the spores to wake up.

My preference is Pristine for many different fungus on my grapes

Pristine works but at $400 for 7 lbs, it may be too expensive for the hobbyist. Hence the reason I shared the cost with two other growers.

All of the chemicals are very expensive! They will store nicely if you have a locked explosion proof cabinet in a cool location.

Luna experience is an excellent fungicide 188.00 quart but it works!
