Well, I'm bummed,

I had ordered about 100 crates for this year. The only problem is that the my local distributer's order got screwed up. My local never recieved any carmenere, only cabernet. Furthermore, my local only received about 1/3 of his total cabernet order.

My local asked me to surrender my grapes to other clients.

I did some thinking (and crying) and figured that if I skip the chilean crush this year, I would make a number of others happy. My grapes could be divided amount 5 or 10 different people.

So here I am, Got money, Got empty tanks, just do not have the grapes nor a way of getting them.

{'scuse me while I cry a little more}

John thanks for stepping up to the plate and doing that. Not to worry though. There is always something else to make wine with. :)

I hope they remember that for your next order. Should be worth a little bit of a discount.
Not sure if CT is too far from you but check out juicegrape.com and maltose.com and see if they have anything left.
Joe and I got carmenere from juicegrape. Wade has something coming into maltose soon if not already.

I would speak to the manager and surrender your order and tell him that you EXPECT a deeper discount than just a high volume order discount. Time is money and in the case of a wine's aging the same holds true. I can't see why it wouldn't be the company's fault, the local place in Hartford had extra grapes this year so go armed with that information and save a buck or two.

What would you be making with that mix of ingredients?

Rob a lot of folks make wine from Welches juice concentrates. Wine on a budget. It is often used to help enhance the flavor of some fruit wines. The posting for JohnT is a long standing joke that goes way back, all in fun.

i understand the juice cans but not the chocolate or malt.

Maltose didnt get grapes this year or at least didnt get the ones I ordered as their Broker took one look at the shipment and decided not to accept it so I get my money back also. Thats fine actually now as I really dont need any more wine right now nor do I have the time to play with them at the moment! Typically these grapes are awesome so its probably a transportation problem, maybe Customs?

Rob actually some folks do use the powdered chocolate but when I make my chocolate ice wine I use solid wafers. Also used them in my cherry wine. As far as the malt goes I think Wade can answer that better for wine.

New idea for a reality TV show.....

Nope. I know the parts are for various recipes but I want to see 1 recipe with all that in there in some way. My suggestion is chocolate orange SP.

and who would you pick to be the master wine maker in charge? Wade is too nice, Tom would drink it, maybe Rich or Al?

AL? God help the one with a degree..LMAO
