As I mentioned in my intro post, I have limited space at the moment. I'm planning on doing one dessert wine kit and one "regular" one. Any suggestions? Favorites?

I would never make a "regular" wine. If you are going to bother why not make a "great" wine or a "superlative" wine. Personally I only make "scrumptious" wines.

Just kidding of course . . . Welcome to the forum, I'm sure your wines will be "stupendous".

LOL! Ttortorice that's too funny!

I love reds and whites both, but in particular shiraz and especially carmenere. Especially carmenere. Big, bold reds.

IT DOESN'T TAKE A LOT OF ROOM TO MAKE WINE IT TAKES SOME FORETHOUGHT AND A UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROCESS YOU CAN MAKE WINE IN A TWO/TWO AREA IF THOUGHT OUT CORRECTLY...YOU NEED THE DESIRE AND THE WILL............THE REST IS EASY.....

All kidding aside Mosti has several high end, high quality limited kits that you might consider.http://www.finevinewines.com/c-330-meglioli.aspx These would not be for drinking soon, think at least a year from now. No doubt you would have to get another carboy . . . ha ha slippery slope! There is no law as to how many wines you have going with different consumption intentions, some for young drinking, some for letting mature in carboy and even some for gifting or special events. Sometimes we are only limited by available fund$, space and as Mike says SWMBO.

Also for quick drinking (6 months) you could get one of the mid range Carmenere kits and add a Syrah grape skin pack, http://www.finevinewines.com/p-2235-140964.aspx
That would give you your own blend of two of your favorite wines and be approachable sooner rather than later. WARNING there are those who will say that any grape pack in a kit requires extended aging, just don't mention grape pack and early drinking in the same post.

!

All kidding aside give George a call and he'll help you pick the right kit for you. If you can only make 1 at a time, make the white first since they are traditionally ready to drink faster, then make a red. The idea is to make one you can enjoy soon first to help the rest age a bit.

I am really liking my Mosti Mondial Renaissance Rio Grande Rojo It's one year old now and pretty amazing. If you like a Chilean blend I highly recommend it plus it's on sale.

Thank you all so much for the kind words and suggestions. I'm spending some time looking over all the kits so I can decide. Will also pay a visit to the store so I can discuss with George in person.

I'm just getting to know himbut he sent me a giant box of it. However, you'll need to add salt and butter.

What customer service!!!
