I was going through my vines and removing all the growth down at ground level.
One one on my Riesling, I plucked off the little shoots down an inch or so above the ground, then noticed that was the only green on the whole vine.
The rest of it (goes up 3 feet then splits in each direction along the wire) looks totally dead, likely winter damage.
So with the only leaves removed and no visible buds, is it dead? Or will it come back?
A few other of these Riesling vines have some dead sections on them, but none are nearly as bad as this one.
