Started my second kit, I had alot going on and did not think and used my well water instead of spring water. Did I ruin it? Is there anything I should do now? Thanks for all the great help so far. This was a wine expert New Zealand Sauv Blanc kit.

If you like the taste of your well water, it should be what you are using to make your wine.
Is there something wrong with your well water?

How good is you well water? Does it contain known chemicals and minerals that may be of concern. Is there any particular reason that you are concerned? I mean, is the wine doing something that is odd? Does it tast bad? Have a bad odor? Have an off color?

You are very likely all right. I use city water and have not had a problem.

Our well water taste's fine but everything I have read said to use spring water. It is in the secondary now for 3 days and it seems to be doing ok. I guess I am just worried about it and being new to making wine don't want to screw up an expensive kit.

I don't blame you but if you drink it you should use it.

I agree, if you like the taste of your well water, it should make good wine, also.
Your wine should be just fine.

Thanks, I'm feeling alot better. Now just waiting and waiting and waiting. Might sneak a taste after it clears.

I was sure I read that it should not be used, but it looks like that is what I will be using from now on.

Thanks.......

I would think that reference would be to a well with off-tasting water or a very high mineral content, which tends to cause scale to build up in drinking glasses. I have some friends who have a well. They don't drink the water from it. It has massive amounts of minerals.

Also, if you should have some kind of bad bacteria, that would be a problem. However, if you drink it and like it, it should be fine. Normal mineral level is great for wine. After all, lots of cities get their water from ground wells. The difference between yours and theirs is they ad chlorine, was doesn't go well with wine, anyway.
