OK, so I love this show, but only discovered it recently. I heard folks talk about the "winery episode" and finally saw it last night.

Man, that was painful to watch. But, it was also very funny. The episode ended with the line "know anybody that wants to buy a winery?" My wife was in stiches when I jumped out of my chair, raised my hand, and yelled "ME, ME, ME" like a elementery school boy.

Havn't seen that episode yet, John. Have heard about it and it will come back again. The show is easy watchin and funny. Not many of them around any more. Arne.

We heard about the show but didn't start watching until we stumbled upon it by accident. New series starts in 19 days I think. I can't wait. The owner of my wife's company knows them. The company is based out of Louisanna and Phil was one of her co-worker's brother's football coach.

the only difference between wine grapes and grapes from the supermarket is the amount of sugar..."if a little sugar and yeast is good than a lot has to be even better".....lol...now someone tell me h.i.t.h. someone could get "merlot" out of red table grapes???....roflmao....let alone expect to have a truly enjoyable beverage in 3 weeks???...and to be taking red grapes and pressing right after crushing....lol...now is it just me, but did anyone else notice how deep the color was on the finished product was compared to the color of the juice, especially given the fact that the grapes were pressed right after the crush, instead of being fermented on the skins for a week first???...yeah, i know...it's just tv and for entertainment purposes....lol...and no, the majority of the tv watching world doesn't know how wine is truly made....lol...but no, i don't think you can tell that i watch that show at all....roflmao....guess u could say that show is my giulty little pleasure....it makes me "happy, happy, happy"....lol..."hey....looky hey, jack"......lol...

Perhaps they added some beets when they added the sugar? That would explain the color and why it tasted like cat urine.

I know it is funny, and I know it's not real, and I enjoy it, but are the kind folks down south offended by shows like this? Much like the "Jersey Shore" offends folks like me up in the garden state?

i don't know if they would be offended or not, considering once you watch the show enough, you will hear that they are actually self-proclaimed "rednecks"....that being said, it's not like someone else is calling them that...know what i mean???...

I gotcha g8.

Ever since Jeff Foxworthy, being a "red Neck" is no longer an insult, but a source of pride. I guess it all comes down to intent.

exactly....yes, u understand....and believe me, they were that tag with pride for sure, and at the same time crack jokes about it as well....the more you watch, john, you will see what i mean....lol...

As my wife would say "there are different kinds of rednecks, she says I am an educated redneck. Some just exude redneckticity"
While some may get insulted most of us know some one that resembles this crew in one manner or another.
Southern or not. Hell some of my best friends are rednecks.

Has anyone noticed that terms, names and idioms mean different things to different people and that their meaning changes over time. If I sat down to think about it (and if I had not been "working on my wine") I could come up with a huge list. Two come immediately to mind. The first is the term "red necks" which in the part of Pittsburgh that I grew up, meant "Catholics." The second is the idiom, "up tight" which now means "tense" or "edgy." Back in the 1960's it meant everything was cool. There was even a song, and in my diminished state, I can't remember the name but the lyrics were "everything is up tight, out of sight." Anyone else notice this or is it the wine?

John I occasionally watch this show. I love it when they're blowing up the beaver dams.
