Boy I wish ours would! Ponds are August low, not January high.

Neighbors pond finally rose to the overflow pipe in late December. The overflow goes into Plum Creek which eventually feeds into the Rocky River. Flow in the river spiked to 10x the average of the last 6 months once the pond was full. Every additional precipitation no longer goes to filling area ponds, but overflows directly to the river, making for extremely high flows. And also makes fishing the river nearly impossible.

You guys make me laugh worrying about how much snow you get. Over here in the UK, we really worry about snow. Any amount above 1 inch and there's absolute chaos, almost a national disaster. Roads, rail, and airports brought to a standstill.
We Brits do what we always do when it happens.
Blame the Government!

20 years ago, November and December were the mud months here. Almost all it did was rained in those months. That has gradually been becoming drier and direr. My water table-fed, gravel bottom farm ponds are dug at the headwaters of Campers Branch Creek, which flows to Campers Creek, with flows to the Elk River, which flows to the Tennessee River, which flows to the Mississippi River. But Campers Branch Creek has been dry for a year now.
