I have read alot about temp. of must but what about light? Should I ferment in the dark or just out of direct sunlight? Thanks for any help

Welcome Dave,

Protecting your wine from UV light is important since it will cause premature aging. If you have a way to protect your wine makingfrom must tobottling it is best but not absolutely necessary during the fermentation stage.

During long term aging controlling exposure to light as well as temperature fluctuations, high temperatures, and vibration is more critical.

Well I know that Florescent lights give off a form of ultraviolet rays.
Dont know if they are also harmful to wine but why risk it. I try to
keep mine in the darkest corner of my basement and if there was
sunlight coming in I would put up a blanket or something. Hope This
helps.
