OK, maybe it Holloween related?

I was racking a WE pinot Gregio kit that had just finished 2 weeks of clearing. WE kits clear on the lees fomed during 2nd fermentation. I am going to bulk age this kit for several months so I racked to a new carboy.

AsI was starting to rack, I noticed after an inch or two that i seems like there were some ghostly images floating near the top as the racking was continuing.

Is there something floating on the top that was mixing in with the rest o the wine. Any one see anything like this? Is it a problem?

Thanks, Pat

What kind of carboy are you using? Some times sediment clings to the inside ridges of the carboy right after clearing/stabilizing and as you rack it starts to float around in your must. It will fall to the bottom again. Don't sweat it. Your fine.

Yes, my carboy has ridges. Thanks.

Thanks, I did not notice anything floating on the surface before racking. I did notice this one small white speck today. see it next to the tsp in the dropper, or at about 10 o'clock in the bottom of the jelly jar.

When I transferred to a new carboy, I added 1/4 teaspoon of k-meta for bulk aging. Looks like treatment is to add more k-meta. I'll keep an eye on it to see if I have anything growing on the surface.

Yeah good plan. If it does just suck it out with an eye dropper or turkey baster and pool some meta water on top of the wine.
