It's not a fair guess for a wine forum. But neither was the cider and everybody got it right away. This is not a very traditional drink. It's a simple mixer.
The drink mixer is nonalcoholic and wasn't even available in the United States until 1997. But could have been crafted in Austria as early as 1984 and a variation could have been crafted in Thailand as early as 1976.
The shot has even less of a history. It was introduced in the United States until 2009.
The original mixer is actually among the top 10 most popular mixers in the US and is made with a shot that was introduced in Germany in 1935.
