Been lurking around your Skeeter Pee thread for a couple of weeks now and have some question so thought I would introduce myself first then head over there and ask a few things.
I've been making wine and beer for over 20 years and recently other things of a similar nature.
Started with cheap wine kits and Montona Blonde beer when we lived up in the Arctic. There was no place to buy spirits and freight to ship it in was horrendous so making our own seemed like the perfect solution.
I'm more of a drinker than a serious brewer. I usually mostly follow the instructions but have been doing it for so long that the record keeping is a bit lax. I'm very diligent in the consumption department, which is the important part.
Just recently bottled 3 beer kits from Festa Brew (Pale Ale, Blonde Lager, Brown Ale. I have never tried these 23L kits that require no additional water. Really looking forward to trying them after a few months aging.
Current wine carboy inventory at various stages of brewing/aging.
White - Australian Semillon - Sauvignon Blanc (Cru Select, Started Oct 31/10
Red - Australian Petit Verdot (Selections, Started Nov 14/10
Red - California Old Vine Zinfandel (Cru Select, Started Nov 22/10
White - Australian Murray River Reserve (Selections, Started Nov 28 17/10
Red - Italian Brunello LE (Selections, Started Dec 17/10
Red - Australian Petit Verdot LE (Selections, Started Jan 31/11
Red - Toro, Spain, Tempranillo Grenache, RQ (Cru Select Special Reserve, tarted Feb 8/11
Red - Rosso Grande Eccellente ( Merlot Skins) (Cellar Classic Winery Series, Started Mar 1/11
And as mentioned above:
Skeeter Pee - Rosso Grande Starter - Started Mar 8/11
Well that's about it. Glad to have found this great online resource. It's great to hear how others are doing things.
