Hello All - New Winemaker

Hi - Although I joined the forum about a year ago, I really hadn't become involved in winemaking until later in 2013. I started out with a couple others trying to make something out of store-bought grape juice. That didn't go too well, but it lit a small fire. In the Fall of 2013, my son and I purchased a half-ton of cab franc grapes from a local vineyard and we decided to jump right in to the hobby and make a 60-gal barrel of wine! Trial by fire! We've got that barrel going and also a couple carboys of petite syrah and a 10-gal barrel of petite syrah port. Now we're planning what grapes to buy to try our hand at a Rhone wine blend.

Nice to meet you all and I thank you in advance for being patient with all the questions I'll have along this journey.
