Hola Amigo's!
Thought I would stop by and introduce myself. Some of you know me from another winemaking forum that I moderate on. I have been making wine for 18 months now. I seem to be like a lot of us on these boards, addicted to pitching yeast on a frequent basis......
I have 21 kits under my belt ATM and this past Summer planted Corot Noir, Noiret and Marquette vines to see how they would grow in my area and if they would thrive and make a decent wine. I took my first foray into wine from fresh grapes this Fall with 200lbs of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from down South of me in Deming, New Mexico. I am looking forward to expanding the fresh grape adventure and using kits to fill in as things progress down the road.
I am originally a native Texan (San Antonio) that escaped 25 years ago and moved to the cooler, drier climes of Northern New Mexico (just outside Santa Fe). I am an Analytical Chemist by trade and enjoy analyzing things way too much and trying to make a better wine by knowing the numbers instead of trying to get lucky.
Looking forward to meeting some new friends and hanging out with some old ones as well over here!
Happy New Years Eve!
