I am going to start a batch of Sketer Pee, but dont have anything to make a yeast slurry.
I have read that I can start my yeast with sugar and water and once the yeast gets goin add the rest of the ingredients, or mix all of the ingredients except the lemon juice. and when the yeast gets going add the lemon juice a little at a time. Has anyone used either one of the methods, and which one would work best?

Poorboy,

Boil you a gallon of water and add 2 cups of sugar. Let it cool to room temp and transfer 1/2 to a sanitized 1 gallon jug or container. Add a tsp of yeast nutrient, and a 1/2 tsp of yeast energizer. Slosh the jug carefully to mix the energizer and nutrient. Then add more of your previously boiled sugar water to the jug. Don't fill it all the way as you want to leave head space for the foam. Fill it at most 3/4 of the way and pitch your yeast. Add a sanitized airlock for good measure and place it in a container that can catch any blowoff (just in case). It should take off pretty quickly and be bubbling within 12 hours of pitching that yeast. Prepare this 2 days before you start the skeeter pee. You will then dump this starter into your skeeter pee (or pour the skeeter pee on top of it in your fermenter. You should be good to go.......

Thanks for posting that idea Gaudet. I tried a while back with just pitching the yeast on top and mine was a failure. Whipped and whipped it, but it just never really took off. I think I'll try it again using this method.
