Hi everyone! My name is Zare! I'm from Montreal and 27 years old. Have always been fascinated with wine so decided I should try making my own. My first batch is a 10L Nebbiolo kit (Grand Cru). Thought I would start with something simple rather than pay more for a larger kit and be $130 in the hole and have enough vinegar to last me 10 years :). I'm currently at secondary fermentation stage so we'll see how this story is going to end. I look forward to reading everyone's experiences here and hopefully I pick up a few things from everyone!

welcome Zare and your fascination with wine will become an addiction with making wine! I'm still fascinated and addicted:h I went from complaining about having to pick pears up off the ground from an old pear tree I have in my yard to growing my own lil grape vineyard and since then I have planted strawberries, black berries, peaches, apples and ordered some goose berry plants turning all into wine!! And I started this addiction with making wine instead of taking all the fallen fruit to the woods for the deer. Now the deer get what is left over, everyone gets good gifts from me, and I'm happy when there are pears on the ground because this only means it's time for wine!! And everybody is happy!:b

Welcome to the forum!

I believe there is a fairly large contingent of folks from Canada who post here. Not certain though whether anyone else is from Montreal.

Hello Zare! Welcome to the forum! I'm 1 hour west of Ottawa in Renfrew! Lived in Ottawa for about 35 years. Have friends and colleagues in Rigaud!

Best of luck with that kit, I've never tried it hope it turns out nice!

Welcome Zare!
Another fellow Canadian, but a bit farther away in Winnipeg :)

Great to have you on board!

Welcome Zare, to one of the best boards on the net!

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome!

Gadawg, definitely the best forum on line! Haha

Bkisel, there are definitely a lot of Canadians on this site! Nice to see so many enjoy this art!

Peaches9324, I would definitely like to make wine from the beginning, pressing my own fruit one day, sounds like you have a nice operation going there!

Ckvchestnut, I actually live in Laval but I just say Montreal because it's more common lol. Laval is the island next to Montreal.. But Rigaud is still close!

The_rayway, Winnipeg is not too far either lol. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Smokeymcbong, T.O! Only a 7 hour drive! Lol

Runningwolf, thanks for the welcome!
