I just hit 94 here and I know it's a lot hotter in other parts of the country. I hope everyone is staying cool.

97.7 here. A/C can't keep up. Sure beats the cold though. IMO

Only 72 here in Seattle... Been like this, since before you guys started gettin the heat wave. The highest we've seen is maybe 84-85, and thats if you laid in the sun, on the concrete, for 6 hours or more lol..

Hey Flem.
Has it kept up in other years?? If so, you probably need to service it a little. Chances are the outdoor coil needs to be cleaned.Make sure your filters are clean. The big line outside should be cold and sweaty. If not you are probably back to the outdoor coil not clean or you are low on freon. There are a couple of other things that could cause that, but you are going to have to pay somebody to take care of them. Take care, stay cool. Glad somebody can, I am always out in this heat trying to make others cool. Arne.

With the heat index it was 105 here today and is supposed to be 115 with the index tomorrow. Not sure what the exact temp was but right now at 11:10 its 99* upstairs in my house! We traded in our big 110V AC last year for a HUGE 220V wall unit and its keeping our whole first floor at 69* on low and that my friends is sweet compared to the other unit on high struggling to keep it at 76*! Im not sure if its saving us money or not but its saving my sanity......

I was going to complain about how hot it is... then I realized that:

1.) it isn't 120 degrees;
2.) I'm not 5,700 miles from home;
3.) I'm not dressed in a full uniform and helmet and carrying 70+ lbs.
and
4.) There is very little chance that anyone will shoot at me or that I might drive over a bomb in the road today!

He had a soldier from Pennsylvania get killed Monday in Afghanistan as a result of an IED. Sending out prayers to the family and fellow soldiers of Ken VanGiesen.

103 here, not sure what the index hit. It's been too hot and too dry for too long.

I'm having to water everything way too often, the june bugs and jap beetles are trying their best to destroy everything.

I'm winning so far, but I'll be checking out regional farmer's markets as an alternative to growing my own before I continue planting more next spring.

I may have to limit my 'orchard' to things I can't buy; elderberries, currents, cherries and forget the brambles.

Then again, by next spring the memories of this season will have softened. I'll buy/plant everything I can imagine I'll ever want to pick. And I'll complain even more next year ... until I open a bottle of a previous year's bounty to ease the pain, take a long draw on a perfect wine produced from my own fruit ... and ultimately realize that there are worse ways to spend my time! :)

To those who defend our country, you have my sincere gratitude. I'll raise a glass in your honor and share what I have at every opportunity.

Amen to that. Prayers went out to his family and the families of all the soldiers overseas.

Today is my son's last day of Acitive Duty in the U.S.M.C. He will be heading home from Beaufort SC this morning and should arrive home around midnight.

August will be here soon enough, your times coming...... :D

Yeah - it has been hot here in Missouri. STL has hit 100 for 3 days in a row now!!! Suppose to be 99 today.

94 today with a heat index of 102, sounds like pool time will be all day. Thank God a bottle of wine floats in the pool. :db

Yeah - you better hope they add new water to the pool.

My parents have a pool - and my dad drops the pool down 8" and adds new water in - just to get the temp down to about 85ish. Otherwise the pool temp is about 94 - bath water!!!
