The Atomic Wine Maker
Ok, I just had to share this! Last night I got inspired to use up some of my gin... ( This happend after I shared a nice bottle of pinot noir with my gf) instead of hitting up the bourbon supply so hard.. But what came of this idea is I believe the best gin cocktail that this world might have ever seen.
Steps
1) lightly muddle 5 or 6 large sized mint leaves with the juice of 1 lemon.
2) add 3-4 dashes angostura bitters and around 2 dashes of orange bitters ( adjust this to taste)
3) add 4 oz's of gin ( I used Hendricks) ( maybe add 5 oz if you intend on serving over ice)
4) gently stir to mix
5) Pour in one bottle of woodchucks granny smith cider
6) mix gently and strain garnish with some of the muddled mint leaves or new mint leaves if you like a stronger aroma.
You may decide to pour this over chipped ice if you wish, just beware that I am not sure how well the flavors will hold up if you do that. One adjustment I would recommend if you intend on pouring over ice is upping the gin a little bit and perhaps the bitters as well.
Anyways, give it a try. Its worth it!
