Here in Florida, I have a tool shed I am thinking of making my wine area. It has 2x4studded walls with hardie plank exterior. I will put either plywood or paneling inside. It has a plywood floor and I expect to build it up on 2x4 with more plywood so that I can insulate it.
The roof is tin and the trusses are 2x6 with no ceiling . I expect to cover that with paneling or plywood. I want to insulate it and seal it as well as I can
I plan on putting a very small window unit in it. I want to maintain a temperature of about 70 to 75 degrees. Do not plan on a heater. If need be I will put a small electric space heater.
If I am fermenting in winter, I will get me a tub and aquarium heater.
It is going to be a very small area, maybe three carboys going at a time. It is about 5feet by 7, maybe 8 feet. I will build racks for about 250 bottles.
Here is what I would like your suggestions on:
insulation of roof
Insulation of walls
insulation of floor
How best to seal things up
Should I bother insulating a door (no windows)
I appreciate your help.
