New to winemaking 2nd kit, went to rack reisling before bottling and tried some and was real weak. smells good looks good just tastes real weak. think i added to much h2o when topped off added about 2.5 liters of h2o. wishi knew beforehand to add same wine when topping of before. Is this wine a dead stick or can it be saved?
 
Dont know why you would have needed that much! Did you top off before adding f-pac and fining agents or just leave a lot behind when racking out of primary?
 
i think i left to much behind when racked out of primary. alchohol content seems to be around 2.5 %.
 
I dont think its that low as you would have to use 1/2 water and then some to get it down that low. The only thing you could really do at this time is to make another kit and boost that one up in abv with added sugar in the beginning and blend them when done.
