I purchased it in 2020, unfortunately. The little bit of use that I put to it was so undemanding that I did not notice the defect while corking the couple of cases with #8s.If you just purchased the corker, I would try to take it back to the seller and ask for an exchange. If this does not work, I would try to "adjust" it.
It is not off by that much. Before I cut and welded it, you might consider a "Charles Atlas" adjustment, like with a large pipe (e.g. 24") wrench, something with a lot of leverage. I would remove the top plate, protect the metal with thin strips of wood, grip the whole head and try to bend it to level. From the upper photo, it only looks like a matter of 1/32" to 1/16" and it should be good to go.
I should add that I was a Manufacturing Engineer for a couple of companies that made printers, banking machines and copiers. Two of the essential tools on the assembly line were a medium weight ball peen hammer and a pry bar, particularly when a weldment was involved (and the frames of the machines were always weldments). They are welded in a jig, but many factors such as cooling rate, could change the dimensions after welding.
You have nothing to lose by using @Rocky's suggestion of adjusting the tilt with a large pipe wrench.Welp, I heard back from both the seller and the manufacturer. Neither will do anything about the defective equipment because I bought it too long ago. Not surprised but also disappointed. The seller offered me $15 off a table corker.
What other features does it have above the Portuguese corker?it has other features that still make it my preference.
I thibk that's where a capper can attach via clips. What other features does it have above the Portuguese corker?
Also, does anyone know what the hooks on either side of the head are?
The Portuguese was shorter and flimsier, with plastic jaws. I like the height and sturdiness of the Italian, plus I thought that the brass jaws would last longer. The arm/lever is about twice as long on the Ferrari and less stooping required. The hooks, as franc1969 mentioned, are for the bottle capper attachment. What other features does it have above the Portuguese corker?

I do have something to lose. I don't want to bend it. I'm going to have the head cut from the square tubing and re-attached correctly. I did some welding last night on some farm equipment and it was rather ugly so I'm going to have a shop do it. Cut the high side and drop it by about 1/16".You have nothing to lose by using @Rocky's suggestion of adjusting the tilt with a large pipe wrench.
