two snows in one week - it's a record

The county sent employees home at 1:30 - this is almost unprecedented. Traffic is snarled all over the northern tier of the DFW Metromess.

We are supposed to get an unheard of 10-12" Tonight and tomorrow

Waldo I wish you luck in not getting that snow. It would be bound to be very heavy and would wreak havoc on all your trees and power lines. Let's just send it straight north into Minnesota. They like it up there!

No new snow here...We have plenty of old snow.....Really cold temps....maybe record lows tonight.

Spring will come someday....... won't it????

Headed to South Dakota tomorrow morning....maybe find some warmer temps there.Edited by: Northern Winos

All y'all keep your icky weather to yourselves, thank you very much! Supposed to be 22 below 0 tonight. Pls don't add insult to injury!

I was wondering about all of you in the north, Dallas, Denton etc....north to me here in Houston. We are getting slammed with rain right now. Keep sending pictures. They are really talking about Dallas on the Weather Channel right now.

Have fun slippin and slidin!! Ramona

Since Wade and I have been doing our part of producing plenty of CO2 up here in the Northeast we are in for for just rain and lots of it....2-4 inches! We have a Flood Watch posted and it looks like Wade is in the Flood Warning area. Edited by: masta

By the time it gets here, depending on the path, we could get either 6 inches or more of snow - or moderate to significant ice accumulationsSaturday throughSunday Morning. It was downright blinding around here today. I had to drive a few miles to Peru today and the glare off the ice was incredible. A half inch or so of ice over fresh snow made for a huge wicked mirror. Couple that with bright blue sunny skies and in the 20's, and it was really beautiful to behold and me alas with no camera aboard!

We are supposed to get between 5 and 10 inches. It is supposed to start tonight and go thru Saturday night. The stores were really busy tonight with everyone trying to get last minute stuff. I'm glad that I have tomorrow off from work and will not have to fight the traffic. It seems that a 20 minute drive takes over 2 hours with snow. Central Ohio does not get a lot of big snows, usually a mix of ice and some snow. Five to ten inches will be a real mess.

I drove through the snow coming back from my Dad's in OKC today. Fortunately, everyone was taking it slow. It was very pretty. I love the snow. It is always so peaceful when it snows... unless it is a blizzard.

After living in Fairbanks, Alaska, I miss the snow, so I enjoy the once a year snowfall here in Dallas when we get our inch or less.

You say that as if today was NOT a blizzard!

Speaking of Fairbanks, ever been here?

North PoleEdited by: trashy

Handsome couple in the mirror. Fantastic Whale shots.

Yes, I have been to North Pole, Alaska. There is a HUGE Christmas Store there.

BTW, North Pole, Alaska is SOUTH of Fairbanks.

It's not in Alaska, but we have a North Pole, NY here, complete with post office. It's at the base of Whiteface Mt and right near Lake Placid and is about 40 miles from where I am. Many, many kids have been there over the years with them opening Santa's Workshop in 1953. If you wanta real adventure, you can drive your car up Memorial Higway to almost the summit, park and take an elevator to the castle at the top of Whiteface. Naturally the highway is shut down this time of year being under about 10 feet of snow.

The "storm" just got here! It's snowing heavily - big mushy flakes.

Richard,

i was there with my family when I was around 5. Loved it!Edited by: bj4271

Waldo's snow is headed for us. Supposed to start around noon and go all night. Predicted accumulation for Memphis is 4 - 6". Local schools are closing at noon (that lets them get their federal attendance money). I doubt I will get to go home early, however.

It snowed in Huntsville TX, 72 miles north of Houston.
It didn't stay on the ground but it was pretty heavy @ 8 am.
