Just joined this forum. Back in the 1970's I liked to help my Dad make wine from winemaking juice kits. Now I'm starting from scratch, growing grapes in a small vineyard with my goals being a rosé and a white. The vineyard has Marechal Foch and Frontenac Blanc on a great south-facing hillside, with room for expansion in the future.
 
I'm figuring it's going to be a couple more years before I start pressing grapes. which is fine, since I'm setting up a working area and deciding what equipment to buy.
Good plan. Watch Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist for folks selling equipment. It will probably take time and watching to find what you need.

I would encourage you to “practice” with other grapes or country wines. There is a lot to learn about what flavors change as a wine ages. On my part research wine might be 1.5 gallon must racked to a 4 liter and that racked into a gallon (3.78 liter).

have come a long way since the 70s, even the inexpensive kits make decent wine. I always liked Foch especially when spending a verry short time on the skins, it's a teinturier so even when crushed and pressed immediately, it has a good color, I don't see how you could make a rosé from it.
