I'm curious what everyone else is using for their wine labels. As I'm generally going to be reusing the same bottles many times over, looking for a label that peels off a heck of lot easier than the ones on the bottles I'm recycling from commercial wines. I've even thought what's the point, just use a white sharpie on it, easier to remove than a label. Thoughts? Looking for something easy.

I use gummed back paper to print my labels on. Quick water spray on the backside and stick em on. Run a little warm water on them after the bottle's empty and they slide right off with no residue.

Ditto on the removable label from Avery, you can print on them from your computer, they have a template, you can get 3 lines on them, they stay on and are easy to peel off, we use them on each bottle, if the bottle is going to be given away we just glue on our fancy label, its also nice because we can put them on hangtags, put one on our record sheet for that wine and even on a box if its boxed up easily.

I only label the bottles that I give away. I use Avery labels which are not too bad to remove. On the rest, I use painters tape.

I use Avery but print to plain inkjet paper. Elmer's X-TREME Glue Stick holds the label on until you run water over it and simply peel off the label.

I use Modge Podge with standard colored paper and avery templates from their website to print at home, it's super easy and labels peel right off with absolutely no residue or scraping needed. Plus, the kids "paint" it on the labels so it's fun for them.

I use these type of labels as well when I print my own. They work great as long as you keep the bottle dry. Like for whites if you chill in an ice bucket the label will not hold up. They come as a solid sheet so you have to cut the labels after printing and be sure to print on the right side. :h

Correct you are, they will come off if you put them in a bucket or bag of ice, mine are stored in the refrigerated cellar so I don't worry about that aspect.

Sadly, I put the paper in upside down once, and after cutting out the labels and beginning to put them on the bottles realized my error, I was a little ticked, but learned my lesson.

That's a mistake I've not made yet but I have miss-labeled a few bottles.

Thanks to you all. I've been researching all your suggestions. Appreciate the feedback for someone just getting into this. What a great hobby. Wish I'd started it years ago.

I started 3 years ago when I was only 69 years old! :h
