I'm getting ready to start my first MM kit and have questions with the instructions. It's the La Bodega port kit and there are several things not clear.

Step one advises to "Pour the contents of the juice bag into the fermenter." Well it came with two bags. The instructions do not differentiate between the two. It just says to add the bag. I have made other kits before so it from looking at the bags it looks like one is might be an f-pack. When should it be added?

Step two advises add the contents of the pouch marked "yeast nutrient". The kit did not come with this pouch. It did come with two packs of yeast. Perhaps something got mixed up with it. Thoughts?

First of all, welcome to the forum! I think the larger of the two bags is the one to start with. The f-pack is added after stabilization.

As to the nutrient question, I have no idea. Sorry. You could contact George though. He would be the quickest way to figure it out and to fix it if you do need nutrient.

I know George has made this kit so I would give him a call and he'll get you started on the right track.
Welcome to the forum.

The small bag is the f-pack. It is not added until the end.

You do not need the neutrient. Mine did not have it... I called George, he recommended to go without it. Mine fermented just fine.

Same experience as Goodfella. If I remember right George said some of their instructions were out of date and they no longer included the nutrient on purpose but had not altered the instructions. Mine did well also. I'll have to admit that the instructions for this kit have been the most frustrating to date for me. For your piece of mind, call George.
