Lubrication of old crusher

I borrowed this old cider press from a friend.
The press is greased and works fine, but of course there is no risk of contact with the must.
The crusher needs lubrication or something, because it is sort of hard to crank. I don't want to do anything that could contaminate the must obviously.

Suggestions?
