Malic acid question

So now that I can test for malic acid I can identify my older wines that are high in malic.
will those wines ever mellow out or is malic like tartaric acid and sticks around forever.

The malic acid percentage will not change relative to the many other acids in your wine. If the conditions are right and you haven’t yet bottled your older non m-l wines, you could add the bacteria now.

@wood1954 i have seen two references off the web that some wine acids will combine with alcohol producing esters. This isn’t in books like Wine Chemistry or Pembachi so I don't know how valid the web sites are,
