Generally, how long does wine bubble while fermenting? I have my first batch going.

I racked to secondary on day 7, SG 1.020. Now on day 10 and still happily bubbling away.

I've been brewing ales for 3 years, and so wine has been a new experience for me. Some things are quite the opposite from what I'm used to. For instance, with ale after 3 -4 days, visible bubbling subsides, although fermentation continues for weeks.

Appreciate your input.

Bubbles are the CO2 escaping. It is very difficult to estimate how long it will take to escape completely. Temperature, amount of stirring, initial sg, yeast, storage vessel, tightness (or looseness) of the seal, and many other factors will affect the production and release of CO2.

The bubbles mean very little in terms of fermentation. If you want to know if fermentation is complete, check the sg. Then get the gas to release by degassing a warm wine.
