This is the third Mosti kit that has not cleared well for me. MM Renn Australian "style" Chardonnay. So yesterday after a month "clearing" I hit it with Sparlolloid. We'll see. It cleared a bit but not that much. This is the third MM kit that did not clear. Recently the MM Meglioli Rojo Intensio and MMM Amarone both had to be re-cleared with Superclear. That's really aggravating. Never had that happen with RJS, WE or CC. Those little plastic vials of Siligel and Liquigel just don't do it for some of the MM kits. I know Mosti is new and small but there is no excuse three out of eight Mosti kits I have done did not clear properly. That's like what 40% failure? And other brands have been 100 percent success in clearing for me.

Whites can be more difficult to clear, mainly because it is much easier to "see" that they are not totally clear, compared to a red.

Last week I added SuperKlear to my Mosti Ren Australian Chard and only a week or so later, it is super clear. I used the fining agents, which came with the kit, on a smaller batch a few months ago, so I had to buy and use SuperKlear for this batch.

One thing to note is if the wine is not clear of CO2, it will not clear as easily. Also, at lower temperatures (below 70F), it takes longer to clear.

All my Mosti whites fell clear within 48 hours. Much quicker than any of my CC Showcase whites. YMMV as they say.

Thanks Richard. I should have mentioned that the wine was extremely well degassed, I'm OCD about that and When I stirred to add the Sparklloid there was absolutely no gas. The clearing temp was 72-75. The good news is that after only 36 hours with the Sparklloid it's extremely clear. I think I will just forgo the provided Siligel and Liquigel from now on. Arggg.

I dont use anything but SuperKleer anymore. RJS comes with that but others use different fining agents and I just throw them out now!!! Ive heard of Sparkaloid working just as well but never used it myself. In fact Ive heard 1 person with a very stubborn batch say that even the SuperKleer didnt worm but Sparkaloid did. Ive never had the SuperKleer fail on me yet though.

I've used both Superklear and Sparklloid. The Sparklloid acts quicker IMO but is more of a pain in the a$$. You have to cook it for 15 minutes and let cool. I guess I was aggravated (third MM kit not to clear) so I pulled out the big gun.
