I was not aware that the corked bottles should be upright for a few days. I've used natural corks before and the process was as the last time but I didn't have any leakage. The wine stored in a carboy for 5 months, bottled and stored in the same temperature. I use italian floor corker.
I leave my bottles upright for a week before placing them on their side. Also never wet the corks with sanitizing solution. I mix a strong solution of kmeta ( 2 cups) in a small bucket with a cover. I place the corks in a vegetable steamer on the bottom which is above the solution. Cover the bucket and let the fumes do their thing for an hour or so.

I had the same beading as pictured above when our a/c went out and the house temperature climbed into the 90s for nearly a week waiting for the parts. Live in north florida, no basement. The rack has bottles that are 2+ years old. I had a carboy bulk aging with the proper headspace. The temperature expansion pushed the wine up and out the air lock by the time I thought to check it.
