Hi all! I retired not long ago and have plenty of time for new hobbies so I thought I would try some winemaking at home. I recall my grandfather growing grapes and making his own wine. He actually made quite a bit of it every year and would mostly give it away to family and friends. My grandfather passed years ago and my father passed a few months ago, so one day I was looking around in the old barn on the property and discovered along with one unopened bottle of wine he made dated 1978, there was an old cider/fruit press (huge, about 4 feet tall!) that I assume was used for pressing the grapes. I don't have the recipe that he used, but thought maybe I could try this on a small scale at home. Thanks!
