Hello All, I have been referencing this great web site for a while, and finally decided to "join up". Making wine has always been on my "bucket list" since watching my Sicilian grandfather (when I was a young child) making wine.
My wife and I started about a year ago as part of our retirement activities, and are "all in". We did three kits to get our feet wet, did a great bootcamp at Musto Wine Grapes to learn how to work with grapes (South African Pinotage - took home 10 gallons), have done about 24 gallons from juice, and this fall did 20 gallons of Sangievese, 20 gallons of Reisling, and 10 gallons Cabernet Sav, all from grapes.
Getting ready to plant 65 vines this coming spring so eventually we can make wine from our own grapes.
This web site / forum has been exceptionally helpful so thank you all very much!
