Just moved to the Willamette Valley. Culinary pro and looking to get into the wine biz. Searching for property now. Any help on the ins and outs would be good. Technical data is appreciated. Cultivation, irrigation, soil management, ect... Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, Scotty. Your questions are way over my head but there are several vintners on the forums that can help. I am geographically challenged so can you tell me where the Willamette Valley is. The only Willamette I know of is in the Chicago area (not sure the spelling is the same) and I don't think that is where you are.

I was just there. Talked to one winery owner that was in the mood to sell. $1,000,000. That gets you a few acres of 2 year old vines and a small winery/tasting room away from the main areas. This was outside the Dundee Hills area near the ferry.

Step one...get a crapload of money.
Step two...open a winery.

Welcome to the forum and good luck on your search. Seems you have a lot of research and learning to do. Certainly if you ask specific questions, someone on here will respond.
