Welcome mebcat and boozinsusan from another newbie west/southwest of you in Rockford. I have been in the winemaking obsessionfora couple ofyears now and have over 15 kits done or in process.Most of them arephenomenal. My wife got me into this to save $$ over store bought wine. She now prefers my wines over the commerical ones.

JimCook, please let us know regarding local fresh grape suppliers in this area.

F. Colavita & Sons produces the grapes that you can get if you are local in relation to George's store. I've used these grapes in the past and found them to be of great quality for the price. I see that they have a distributor in Norridge, IL which is just outside the city of Chicago and not too far from where we live. Will try to check them out soon when we next head out that way.
