Hi all,

Just joined to learn more about wine making. I've been collecting for a number of years and I wanted to take the plunge into making with one caveat, looking to make something premium equal to something I would buy as a daily drink.

Welcome Deeman, we are here to help you along this journey. Please before you start ask us and post the recipe you are going to use if not a kit so as we can look at it and inform you of any flaws in it. Please use a hydrometer as this is the main wine makers tool!

Welcome aboard. Visit finevinewines.com and get the deluxe starter kit.
You won't regret it.

welcome cpa! visited winchester va once, very nice town!
you gonna do fresh grapes or kit?

If you are talking about grape wines, if you want the best, you should start by making the best kits - the ultra-premuim kits, like Meglioli and En Primeur, to name only two. One can have a lot of debate about bottle value of a kit wine, but you should be able to make something that compares with, say, a $14 bottle of wine.

After you get comfortable with the processes, you can move into premium frozen and/or fresh grapes. If you get good enough at it, if you buy really great (an most of the time very expensive) grapes, you can make some really great wines.

George at Finevinewines.com can help you get started.
