Anyone wish to guess which part of the country I took this pic today? Went to a local Home Depot today and was looking at all the flowers and plants in the garden area and walked over to the half barrel planters and was amazed at the quality and beauty of the barrels. I would hate to fill it and turn it upside down!

Mike what were they asking for the half barrels. That would be cool to cut off about 5" from the bottom and hang it on the wall in the wine room.

$29.99

Wade you obviously have not had the Knights Valley Black label Cabernet? This is not the old Beringer from the early 80's!

If you can find the other half, maybe use some gorrilla glue on it and you can have a new barrel.:r

"Cabernet Sauvignon aged in a medium toasted oak, with a mild note of gorilla glue"

.. Not sure how well that'd go over as a description on the label :)

IME, wine quality vs price is a log10 curve, almost flat at around $10. :)

Mike that was a lucky find. Did all the half barrels have the name on them. I checked ours out tonight and the name was painted over on every single barrel.

Get the blank ones and then have your winery name etched. There are a number of places that do this.

I would also do the following attach them to my walls (screw a cleat to the studs, then screw the 1/2 barrel to the cleat) to make it look like the barrel is comming out of the wall.
