So, I've been in San Jose since Tuesday with a broken airplane (Pilot) and nothing to do. I couldn't find a single vineyard that was open. So here I am today, still broke, On Duty (can't drink) and in wine country. OH THE HUMANITY :( So what else would one do here?

What do you mean no wineries open? All you have to do is drive up Highway 17 and hit the Santa Cruz mountain wineries. There are a number of them scattered about the hills.

On DUT=On Duty have to be available to fly:( that means no tastings :>

I called a bunch and the aren't open to the public on weekdays. Maybe I just called the wrong ones. That's kind of why I opened it up to this forum.

Well, no wineries open during the week plus you can't drink anyway so I guess you can do a lot of crying! Sorry! ::

Actually, I find wineries nice to visit even if you can't taste. While I would certainly prefer to taste - It's nice to just go see everything - especially if it's a vinyard that I have sampled before - i.e. I know the wine. It's also an excuse to just buy a couple of promising bottles and sample when you get home.

Heck, if you've got nothing to do rent a car and start driving!
