looks like a bumper crop for pears, so i was thinking of making 6 gallons of pure pear juice and using lemons or limes for acid and flavor. Anyone have any ideas on how this would work?
Sorry I don't but should have the press rebuilt this morning and will find out how many pears it takes to make a gallon of juice. Got a couple of buckets full to start with. Arne.
Pressed the two 5 gal. buckets of pears. Wound up with a gallon and a quart of juice. There are still some trees around with some pears. Need to go pick a bunch more. Arne.
I added some fresh lemon and lime juice and it was tasting pretty good while it's fermenting, then i thought why not add the juice of a grapefruit. bad idea. totally changed the taste. but who knows in a year it might be great.
