WineXpert Port** What are your ABV%

Hey guys... I am getting ready to bottle mt Blackberry port in a couple weeks and just want to know what ABV% you guys have gotten in your ports? Do you calc the same as when.. The first reading and one right before bottling? Mine will only be around 16%?

Thats not bad but did you sweeten it as the sg would be higher at that point so you would need to go back to where the sg was before sweetening. You could up it if ou wanted by fortifying it with Everclear or brandy.

The BB Port kit I made started at 1.126, went down to 1.014, back up to 1.024 at chaptalization and finished at 1.002 so I think it works out to about 18%. That's if I did it correctly!
You get the first alcohol reading by 1.126-1.014 = .112, then the second reading 1.024-1.002=.022, add the two .112+.022=.134 and multiply that by 133( that's the number i was taught to use) = 17.8%.
Someone please correct me if I've done it wrong.
