Last night was supposed to be the big planet alignment. Just so happens our "Lanai" faces due west so was good for trying to see things but we had a bit of what they call VOG going on at sunset (volcanic dust and marine layer mixture) which made it hard to see anything in the low horizon. I took a series of shots from the same position just to see how the camera on my iPhone15 Pro would do. Turns out you can get some pretty amazing shots even at night with these phones nowadays!

All of the photos are amazing, but that last blast of color in the orchid sure grabs attention.

Here is a shot commemorating the "last cornfield in Dublin, Ohio." The city fathers had it erected in the 1990's and the story is that one resident was so miffed about the waste of taxpayer money on such a project that he planted corn on the lot catty-corner to the memorial.

What is worse is that the lady had to buy the suit with less fabric to save on the cost of the suit.
Beautiful location.
