Today I racked a WE Apple Riesling to degas, stabilize and clear. I have made a lot of kits so at this phase I neglected to read the LARGE print advising me to rack the sediment with the wine or my wine might not clear. I had not yet added the Isinglass when I discovered the error so I used Kieselol and Chitosan instead of the supplied Isinglass in hopes it would work better.

If the fining agents fail to work due to my stupidity, will time and gravity work their magic on this wine??

I did the same thing (racked off sediment) with one of my early kits. It still cleared with just the isinglass or chitosan.

Time and gravity will work too, although not as quickly.

Checked on it this morning. It fell crystal clear with no further fining. Thanx for the replies.

Tried a small glass just out of curiosity this afternoon. This has the potential to be VERY good in a couple months.

Didn't get so lucky with the RJS Watermelon Merlot. It finished and cleared perfectly but just tastes more like artificial flavoring than a mist wine.
