Wow, with the exception of the Amarone (AJ) the price between comparable wine kits has narrowed to the point of no difference in price. Some Renaissance kits are now actually slightly higher in price than the comparable AJ kit!

I have been touting how good the MM Renaissance kits are the last few months, perhaps MM has been listening in!

The TDS (total dissolved solids) are supposed to be higher across the board in the AJ kits but not by all that much actually (according to a well informed source).

You will save a few $$ in shipping with the Renaissance kits as they do weigh quite a bit less than the AJ kits.

Honestly,

Complete wash IMO. Both are excellent high end kits. You used to save a little on the Renaissance kits but not so much any more. The AJ kits are supposed to have more solids which make for a better wine down the road but that will take time and patience. Were talking 1-2 years age.

Mike,
For my tastes, I would push the aging level up further on the AllJuice as my 2008 AllJuice wines are still improving, but that's me.

Total Dissolved Solids in the Mosti kits get pretty close to the 85% mark, which is about as high as they supposedly can be in kits. Mosti's website notes that the blended (Renaissance) products take less time to be ready to drink than the AllJuice products. Any difference in time in drinkability is generally associated with a higher grade base product. I suppose that in this case, if the costs are comparable, it comes down to your own palate and level of patience for wine development.

I think I am about ready to switch back to AJ Kits for the future. I have made quite a few Renaissance kits this last year so my pipeline is filling up nicely now. Its time to start on those few kits that will definitely shine further down the road.

Hmmm perhaps a Meglioli in my future!

Rustyh, I have made both and I tend to lean toward the Renaissnance kits. But both are very good kits!!
