I want to try out a few random wines, but I don’t want to make 5/6 gallons of it until I know how it will turn out.
What do you use for fermenting 1 gallon batches? My local store has 1 gallon glass jugs, but I’d want something a little bigger in case of foaming. I plan on using the 1 gallon jugs as secondary and for storage.
Rubbermaid has 8 qt buckets available that only cost $5. The description says they are BPA free, food safe polyethylene. It doesn’t specify HDPE or LDPE, but the temp range is -20 to 212F, so I think it’s HDPE. I’m thinking this is my best bet, but I wanted to know if there’s something better out there that isn’t expensive.
