For the first time I am seeing a heavy thick foam in the primary on my cranberry wine. Lalvin 1118 yeast was used, same as my last batch of cranberry. Have not seen this thick foam on any of my other 6 gallon fruit batches. The only thing that I did different was to press the fruit and maybe this might be why I'm seeing this. Anyone else experience this? All my other foams have been about half as dense, it resembles what you see when you make jam except it appears to be coarser. Not concerned yet just curious, stirring twice a day and pushing down the cap.

Relax have a glass or 2 of wine.

You just have a fresh pkg of yeast. What was the starting gravity?

Yessir, fresh from Midwest. 1.090, I'm relaxed but oops I'm having a beer right now and looking up cooking recipes for fish from food channel to have with wine.

I wouldn't worry about it. 1118 always foams up a lot for me. It is a very angry yeast!
