Question on Limited Edition wine kits

The couple of websites that I use to purchase my wine kits are offering the pre order for limited edition wine kits from both WE and RJS. Has anyone made the limited edition wine kits in the past and have they been worth waiting several months to receive? I know past limited kits cannot predict the kits for this year but other than limited production, are they that special?
 
For kits, I will buy the whites without skins. I prefer reds with skins, and will either select kits with them or augment with skins. If you don’t have any, consider grabbing a mosti mondiali grape pack; I have found them online. The LEs I tend to select are those that are unique opportunities to try varietals or blends I haven’t made in the past.
 
In my experience, the LE kits are in line quality-wise with each of the main brands top tier. Some of these are quite good and others, less good. Generally, they are very good kit wines. I have reasonably good access to 'traditional' vinifera grapes, so I tend to stick with grape wines for the typical wines/blends. Where I go for LE's is like Heather: white wines and/or unique varietals or blends that I don't have access to via fresh grapes or juice. I tend to avoid red kits without skins, LE or otherwise.
 
I am interested in trying a white with skin for a orange wine. Unfortunately, no one supplies a kit like that.

Actually i heard about orange wine in a few podcasts. But didn't have chance to taste one until one month ago in a wine trip to Okanagan Valley BC Canada and fell in love with it. Since I am only playing kits so far, the sourcing of white skin is a challenge. But I am thinking if I can try it with red skin like M&M grape pack. (This will end up with a PinkOrange wine?) A number of thoughts in mind: such as EM at lower temperature with oak for 2~3 months. Still planning. May start with 1 gal batch to see how it works out. Always fun to try something different.

This is time to give finding what you are looking for a shot. Brehm and Musto both get white grapes in, you could easily request a bucket of white must, variety of your choice, skins and pulp still in, be frozen and shipped to you for continuation.

Thanks for the information, John. However, I am in west Canada. The delivery will be challenging. We have a local store supplying grapes. It needs ordering in advance. May consider moving forward to grape winemaking in the near future. Still need more equipment and more knowledge.
