I have just heard from another source that Sandor Vadai, the President of Vadai Barrels has passed away. Does anyone have any of the details on this, e.g. when he died, cause of death.

I dealt with Sandor and spoke with him on two occasions and he was a very nice person and honest businessman. I am very saddened to hear of this.

I hadn't heard a thing about it. Too bad, I talked to him on several occasions.

News to me as well. Spoke with him on the phone a few times. Very nice gentleman who believed and stood behind his product.

Just did a search in the San Gabriel Valley newspaper and got no hits on Vadai as of today anyway.

Either way he was a hoot to talk to. A very enjoyable and entertaining 30 minutes the two times I talked to him. When I hung up I had no idea what I had ordered.

Afraid the news is true

It does appear that Sandor did indeed pass away sometime this Summer.

The next time you open a bottle of wine that was aged in a Vadai barrel please take a moment to remember Sandor and his life and passion to help the home winemaker make the best wine we can. Period.

Salud.
